Taupo house
Located on the waters edge at Lake Taupo, this house is a modern interpretation of the quintessential Taupo bach.
Our clients wished to create a relaxed setting for their family holidays where they could entertain and enjoy the beach front setting. The house opens out to the lake and into a sheltered courtyard. Pull-out sail awnings provide shade in the summer. The exterior materials are dark stained timber with painted trim and dark silver anodised weatherboard. The interior has polished concrete floors for practical beach living and an open plan fire for those après-ski evenings.
The house has been designed as a contrast to our client's city house so that the experience of being on holiday is heightened.
